Choosing the Right Turbidity or Silt Barrier

Triton Turbidity CurtainOne thing you will want to check regardless of your application is if you are using the right barrier for your location. Turbidity barriers are generally made in three different types, Type 1, Type 2, and Type 3.

Type 1 Turbidity Barrier: The Type 1 Barrier is economical choice for projects that involve calm water applications, such as in small ponds, lakes, swales, or roadside ditches.

Type 2 Turbidity Barrier: The Type 2 Barrier is our medium duty barrier option and it is designed for medium water conditions, such as in rivers, lakes, ponds, streams, or areas dealing with dredging.

Type 3 Turbidity Barrier: The Type 3 Barrier is our toughest barrier option and is designed for tough locations, such as rough water, waves, or long-term silt control.

If you do not happen to have the correct type, we do have all three types in stock and ready to ship in standard sizes (100' or 50' long x 5' wide).
